Our pets are available for adoption in a number of ways.
- Please view all available Safe Haven pets here (or if you prefer, you can
view just dogs or just cats). If you find an animal you are interested in and want to consider adoption, please complete an online adoption application, and submit for our review. Once the review is completed, we will contact you to arrange for meeting the pet and finalizing the adoption.
- We also have a permanent schedule of Adoption Days at PetSmart in Grand Rapids on the corner of 28th Street and East Paris. Adoptable dogs are there on the first and third Saturdays of every month (sometimes even the fifth Saturday). Please check our Calendar of Events for exact dates. Our adoptable cats are able to stay at PetSmart for the entire last two weeks of the month. They can be viewed any time during store hours. An adoption application can be completed in the store, and PetSmart staff will fax it to us. We then review the application and contact you to make adoption arrangements. When you visit us on the Saturdays we're at PetSmart, adoptions may be completed the same day.
- We have adoptable cats on a continuous basis at Pet Supplies Plus in Grand Rapids on Alpine at Four Mile, Kalamazoo at 60th Street, and 28th Street across from Woodland Mall; in Wyoming at 28th Street; and in Grandville on Wilson Avenue. These cats can be met any time during store hours and adoption applications are available in the store. Pet Supplies Plus staff will fax the applications for our review. Once the application is approved, the adoption can be completed by Pet Supplies Plus staff.
- Periodically we are invited to hold an adoption event at local retail stores, grooming salons or veterinary clinics. Please check our Calendar of Events for a listing of all adoption events.
