SAFE HAVEN HUMANE SOCIETY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit group in Michigan, rescuing dogs and cats from a variety of abandonment situations. Funding for our rescue work comes entirely from donations by fellow animal lovers and fundraising events. No funding is received from any national, state or local organization, and there is no paid staff. All rescue work, care and re-homing of these discarded pets is done by volunteers. Safe Haven has no central facility and all pets in our care are in volunteer foster homes.
We work very closely with local animal shelters to pull pets in jeopardy of euthanasia due to lack of space. Many of the pets coming into our program have serious medical needs. We work hard to rescue these pets as funds allow and place them in new fur-ever homes.
